Here we are the most resource rich, energy rich nation in the world and yet we can't seem to figure out how to make it all work in terms of being energy sufficient.

On the one hand other nations will be drilling just miles off our coastlines in 'international waters' yet our own Congress, to date, won't let drilling take place within virtually the same environment.

Libya is planning on a refinery and pipeline in Egypt that will produce 250,000 bpd and the regulations in the USA are to cumbersome and to do the same.

Ever $1 a barrel increase gives nations like Iran another $933M as I recall to the treasury of Iran, and yet we have no political will utilize our own resources.

I can see how the world must laugh at us while they take our money for our dependence on them for energy.

LIBYA: PLANNING REFINERY AND PIPELINE IN EGYPT

Libyan Prime Minister al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmoudi said July 3 that Libya is planning to invest $10 billion in Egypt over the next two years including the development of an oil refinery in Alexandria and a natural gas pipeline that will run between Alexandria and Tobruk, Reuters reported. The refinery would have a capacity of 250,000 barrels per day.
